This session will offer tips that will apply to individuals that facilitate training sessions on a regular basis and for those that are new to the field.

Janea McDonald is the owner of Edge Consulting, LLC, a human capital consulting firm. The firm provides human capital management and development services to organizations. Her extensive Human Resources experience allows Janea to fill HR voids for companies that might not be large enough to have their own HR departments and for companies that have HR requirements that cannot be achieved with current staffing. Among many things, she can create employee handbooks and new employee orientations, develop competency models, 360° Feedback Surveys, provide coaching to employees, and conduct focus groups. Janea feels at home in the training environment and has conducted training on such topics as customer service, DiSC personality assessment, interviewing, sexual harassment, supervisory skills, leadership skills, succession planning, performance appraisals, communication skills, and talent management… just to name a few. She is also a facilitator in the Training and Development Certificate Program offered through the Jack and Patti Phillips Workplace Learning and Performance Institute at The University of Southern Mississippi. Janea earned her bachelor's degree in HR Management from the University of South Alabama, her master's degree in Workforce Training and Development from The University of Southern Mississippi, and is currently in the dissertation phase of her PhD in Human Capital Development at The University of Southern Mississippi. She is PHR Certified and a certified Training and Development Professional.
